Finding Balance in the Busy
September 18, 2026
Between work, family responsibilities, and caring for an aging loved one, daily life can feel like a juggling act. As families settle into back-to-school routines, many caregivers find themselves balancing the needs of both children and aging parents, moving from school schedules and activities to medical appointments and daily support.
Between caring for everyone else, it's easy for your own needs to fall to the bottom of the list. While caregiving can be deeply rewarding, it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. Finding a sustainable rhythm often means recognizing that support isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.
Programs like PACE help older adults remain safely and independently in their homes while receiving coordinated medical, personal, and social support. By bringing services together under one care team, PACE can help ease some of the day-to-day responsibilities that often fall on family caregivers.
That support can make a meaningful difference. Lisa, one of our caregivers, described the reassurance she feels knowing her father is cared for by a team she trusts:
"I'm glad he's safer and we have a team of people who care. It eases my pain every day, knowing that I don't have to worry."
Alexis, another caregiver shared:
“With my mother-in-law being at PACE daily with doctors, nurses and everyone – they see her symptoms and can pay attention to her every day. Her previous doctors would only see her once a month.”
When participants attend the PACE center, caregivers have time to manage other responsibilities, attend to their own well-being, or simply take a moment to recharge.
At Trinity Health PACE, we recognize that caregivers are an essential part of the care team. That's why we're committed to supporting not only participants, but the family members who care for them every day.
